Neither Tony or I have been to Knottsberry Farm before so we didn't really know what to expect.  When we were talking about what to do to celebrate our anniversary, the idea to go here popped up again and with the Boysenberry Festival going on, it was perfect timing!
You pay $35 for a card and detach the tabs around the edge of the card for 8 of the 14 food options. It's definitely good enough to share with someone and I'm glad we did instead of each getting our own. There was plenty to choose from + we found an extra tab on the ground so we got 1 of our favorites again!
The wait lines for the specialty foods definitely were longer but we had all day so stand and wait we did. The first one we tried, I really really liked. Boysenberry BBQ Chicken Skewers with a Boysenberry Atole sauce. Yum!
Boysenberry & Lemon Hummus
Boysenberry Pot Roast over Boysenberry Mashed Potatoes
Boysenberry Cinnamon Sugar Flour Tortilla Chips with Boysenberry Ice Cream
Check out that pretty boysenberry dipping fountain! That cost extra, wasn't on our card.
Taking a break from food and getting ready to go on a ride!
Carson Hill Nugget (see gold above the sign?)
This is an exact replica of the largest nugget discovered in 1854 found in Calaveras County, CA. Approximate weight 2340 Troy Ounces.
It's value in 1854 was about 543,000.
There was so much to see and do at this amusement park.
Since it was our first time here, we tried to explore everything!
Inside this train ride...
Pretty entertaining.
Handy to have all the penny machines in one spot. Wow!
We went on this ride and it was pretty fun minus when one of the ride operators slammed the back of the bar into my back making sure I was on the ride tight enough. Ugh..
Some train fun
On the left is the tostada.
On the right is the Jambalaya. Tony loves that kind of thing.
I ended up riding this roller coaster later in the day. It was SO FUN.
Quick pics on the rides before they made us put our phones away. This ride went so slowly anyway I am not sure what the point of putting our phones away was. Strange.
Craziness. But I knew with all the teens up there if they could do it - I could do it. I would have done it again if there had been time. Super duper fun.
Found an extra ticket on the ground so we got this boysenberry treat again
Also tried the chili in the bread bowl. Another delicious treat.
Oh wow!
Ended the night with an extra (not on our tabbed card) of boysenberry cotton candy.
Yes, I was a little boysenberry'd out by the end of the night but not too bad. Totally an event worth attending if you can.
